Smith Birth

Becoming a mother (no matter how many times you’ve done it) is so life-altering that you want to capture every. single. moment of it. It shows you another side of yourself. It shows you how strong you were during those never-ending contractions, how nurturing your partner is, and that beautiful moment when you bring life into the world.

Lindsey spent all-day on March 12th trying to induce and begin labor.

I’ll never forget walking into Lindsey’s hospital room at 4 am on March 13th. I walked into a room full of her family gathered around her, helping her through each contraction. My favorite moment from the early morning (that is also pictured below) was all of the men in her life gathered around her holding her hands, helping her get comfortable and coaching her through each contraction. It gave me goosebumps, and I’m so glad that I was there to capture these precious moments for her.

After a hard 24 hours of labor, Lindsey headed back to have a c-section and welcomed their precious Jaxon Smith. It was a beautiful day for the Smith Family. You couldn’t wipe a smile from Lindsey’s face afterward, or keep happy tears from filling her eyes. You see Lindsey and Brian have been dreaming of this day for many, many years and today they received their rainbow baby.

How lucky I am to be invited into these sacred spaces, to witness these life-altering experiences. You want your partner and other family members focused on your needs and the needs of the new baby, and not fumbling with a camera just to get mediocre, at best, photos.
